Black Atlantic Makers: Conversations

Black Atlantic Makers: Conversations opens at the Crafts Study Centre in Farnham on Tuesday 17 February and runs all the way through until Saturday 23 May.

The centrepiece will be the multi-panel, woven and embroidered Tapestry of Black Britons. The large textile work will be displayed alongside pieces by Black makers represented within the four material areas of the Crafts Study Centre’s collections – ceramics, wood, textiles and calligraphy – and loans from other public and private collections.

Tapestry of Black Britons, an evolving artwork, is a collaborative, craft-centred initiative celebrating and documenting little-known strands of British history through textile art. A new panel, African Romans by Kofi Alvin, will premiere at this exhibition.

MORYOW: The artifice of dread

MORYOW: The artifice of dread is an exhibition that documents a pioneering practice-as-research project that explored the production pipeline for creating short form genre work within Virtual Production on an independent budget.

The exhibition dissects how this horror project came to life. The work on display within it is the result of countless hours of dedicated effort and craft skills.

The exhibition will be open in the Foyer Gallery at UCA Farnham until Thursday 26 February 2026.

Print as the future: From Rave Culture to Camp Horror

Throughout February, Epsom Library will be hosting a free zine exhibition showcasing work by Year 2 BA (Hons) Fashion, Branding and Communications students.

The exhibition celebrates the creative power of print. The work will be displayed alongside the Library's contemporary zine collection, highlighting a dialogue between emerging and established creatives.

Print as the future
Although students were given a broad brief, producing a complete zine for print and digital was a big ask. The production required writing, photography, layouts and typography in analogue and digital formats. Seeing their final printed outputs has been a great achievement and an incredibly rewarding experience.

Interface(s): shaping engagement, not just attention

This exhibition, opening on Monday 9 February and running through until mid-March, brings together a wide range of work that explores how design shapes the way we experience information and navigate interfaces.

Through printed matter, objects, digital interfaces, and interactive systems, the projects look at how ideas change as they move between formats and media.
