Senior Lecturer in Acting

Keir Burrows (he/him) is an award-winning screenwriter, director, and academic. He teaches acting for screen, writing, and filmmaking across all year groups.
Bio
Keir is an active and award-winning independent filmmaker. He won a BAFTA Rocliffe New Screenwriter Award and his debut feature film, developed with Film London support, was distributed theatrically in the U.S., and holds an 88% review average on Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator. His films have played at the BFI London Film Festival, Raindance, Tribeca Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, and many others. He has several current projects at various stages of development.
Keir taught screen acting and filmmaking at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama from 2006 onwards before joining UCA in 2024. He has also taught at Guildford School of Acting (GSA) and was a Course Leader on MA Acting at Central Saint Martins. His students have gone on to star in work by world-famous directors such as Bong Joon Ho, Christopher Nolan, and J.J. Abrams. Keir has a BA (Hons) in Classical Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education, an MA with Distinction in Philosophy, and is currently reading for his PhD, researching phenomenology, ethics, and aesthetics in the simulated realities of open world video games.
